I need to buy a new car and I want to spend A$25-30 on it. I don’t know if I’m better off with an European luxury car that’s 2-3 years old or a brand new Japanese car for the same money. I would like to keep it for at least 5 years, for it to be reliable and fuss free and not spend too much money on maintainence during this time. I’m not fussy with the make but it does have to be a hatch and have leather seats because of the family dog and the work I do. I like the 2007 luxury edition Subaru Impreza and the 2004 Alpha 147 but I really don’t know! It’s for mostly city driving with the odd short country trip. Advice needed!! Thanks

good question
Get a Japanese car. European cars are more comfortable in terms of acceleration and other things, but they are more costly maintenance wise.
Why don’t you give Kia Rondo a look?
Their all good cars. If you go brand new you get warranty and dont have to worry about maintenance. Even a use BWM wont give you problems but can be costly if you encounter problems. Check out the 07 Audi A3 2.0T. Its good on gas, has leather seats and is a 5door hatch. Go to Autotrader.com and when you search, you can simplify your search by trim. Good luck and happy car hunting.
Why spend so much? You can get a used BMW in a very low price by police auto auction.
Two months ago,I bouht a near new SUV from online police auction. It only cost me $730 and i have not had one problem with it yet .
I followed the guide on
http://www.usedcarsinfo.info/index.php?t=usedcar .That site lists top 5 Police auction sites and help you choose the best one.
