gas mileage of a 1980 camaro rs?

i’m looking to buy a muscle/classic car within my price range, and i found an 80 camaro with a fairly new 350 small block in it, a turbo 350 trans, and a 373 posi rear end. car weighs about 3300 lbs, and i was wondering what kind of gas mileage could i expect from it. i know it can’t be good but i’d like a round about city/hwy estimate. thank you.
would i lose performance if i changed the trans to a 700r4 w/ od?

Is it illegal for connex staff for preventing fare evaders from leaving a train station?

This is a tricky question because in australia when you ride in a Taxi the cab driver cannot lock you in the car for not paying your fare.
If you hopped on a train in the city without a ticket then you hop off the train and when you about to leave the station those Fucking Ticket inspecters from connex harrass you to see your ticket.
What I’m saying is that is it against the law for what connex are doing to commuters because I reckon its better to leave the fare evaders alone before more ticket inspecters get bashed and its only $2 teckets not $30 cab fares or expensive plane flights.

Look I may be offensive but I believe Ticket inspecters need to go.

Car accident, didn’t have my insurance photos taken yet!?

Hi. Sorry to be meeting under these circumstances! I’m twenty-three years old and have had my own car since I was sixteen. For these past (wow) seven years, I have always had auto insurance. Like a vast majority of people right now, I have been laid-off and struggling to make ends meet. On Jan. 21st my auto insurance policy was canceled. Being naive, I thought I could just call another company and get auto insurance (so as I wouldn’t have to pay my back dated policy yet). I found out, however, when you are canceled for non-payment you have to pay at least 25% of your premium, if you can find a company that will have you financed.

So I stopped driving my car for a month, and on the 23rd was able to pay about 700 dollars down for my new insurance company (I have a driving record littered with speeding tickets. I know, I’m a fool.) They told me I had ten days to get pictures of my car taken. I got my new registration in the mail, and joyfully traded in driving my mom’s van for my G6.

Last night, in a snow squall I went out to grab a bottle of wine to relax with some online poker and wound up wrapped around a tree on back road a fourth mile from my house. I was able to back my car up and drive literally down the road to my driveway. I’m going to file a police report, but I’m worried about not having my pictures taken yet! (They were due this coming Friday).

Will this be okay??

does anyone know of a company that makes tank bras for sports bikes to carry a dog?

Hey guys, I see there’s a lot of questions about riding with dogs on motorbikes. I used to ride dirtbikes out on my farm and i never had a problem keeping my dog on my bike but now I live in the city and want to take my little beagle with me when i ride (also because I don’t have a car and need to take him to the vet occasionally).

I’ve seen the road hound carriers but they are super overpriced and I don’t have the proper connections for it.
I’m really looking for some sort of tank bra that would connect to a dogs leash so he could sit up front with me. Or some sort of over the shoulders carry bag so he is connected to me. That would be better so if I have to bail, he can bail too lol. I ride a kawasaki zzr250 by the way

Any ideas anyone has, thanks a lot.

Oh and before anyone comments negatively, having a dog on a bike is as safe as having a dog in a car, especially if he’s strapped to you. In fact, most bike riders are a hell of a lot safer and smarter than most car drivers

Noise in car, Dry radiator – do you think the head gasket is stuffed?

A friend was driving her car today & she heard a strange noise in the motor & pulled over.

Roadside assistance found the radiator was empty. The towtruck driver tried the car and it started but he turned it off immediately.

The car was taken to Ford & apparently a lower radiator hose had burst & needs to be replaced.

The part wont be in until tomorrow however the garage does not know if there has been any permanent damage.

What’s the likelyhood of permanent damage? When she checked the oil there didnt appear to be any water in it, there didnt appear to be any oil in the water either.

TIA guys! :)

Bought a new car – how did I do?

So I bought a car for the first time a few days ago. I did my best to research the in’s and out’s of what’s going on. I do know I took a huge hit in depreciation because I bought it new, but, here is my question:

I paid $15k for a new 2008 Hyundai Elantra GLS – 4 door sedan – automatic (excluding taxes/warranties and all that jazz). Is that a fair price? KBB/Edmonds show the MSRP of the car to be sitting around $14,625. So I’m guessing I couldn’t have gotten it too much cheaper.

Keep in mind, I’m not talking about walking in there paying 14k cash or someone with an 800 credit score. Just your average Joe financing a majority of the car.
Well – I’m not too sure how to reply to my own post (if I can), so I’m adding this here….

The reason I ask is because, I well paid sticker price. But, to me it seemed fair because the MSRP was just a few hundred down. I did pester them to knock it down 500 bucks, but they weren’t budging… and 1 or 2 hundred didnt seem to be that important seeing as how I was spending 15,000 dollars. The whole reason I questioned the deal was because a friend of my wife’s said she got the car for 14k…. 600 under the MSRP, and I don’t see how she could have done that.

But if there is an up-side, I think I did good on 5.95% financing…. well I think anyways, still not sure what is good, lol.

Manual Driving Schools in Melbourne?

hey i’ve been driving an automatic car for about 3 years now but have recently bought a manual sports car. i took my driving test in manual 3 years ago and i thought it would be easy to pick up again. however i get really nervous when driving around the city and tend to stall when i get on all the slopes, which is practically everywhere is the city.

i just wanted to know if anyone can give me information regarding schools that would cater for my need as i already have a manual driving license. im driving on an international license from malaysia btw.
